Welcome to Parramatta State School for new parents and students and welcome back to our continuing parents and students to a brand-new year at PSS. Congratulations on reaching this special milestone with your child. Whether this is your first day of school or you have been here last year it is still a big moment for students and parents, and we hope today offers you a chance to pause, connect, and feel supported as you begin your school journey with us.
Who We Are – Parramatta State School P&C
The Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) is a group of parents, carers and community members who work alongside the school to support students, staff and families.
Our current committee for 2026 is:

- Treasurer: Marika Wyles
- Secretary: Vanessa Harper
We believe in creating a welcoming, inclusive school community where every family feels connected and supported.
P&C General Meetings
We warmly invite all parents and carers to attend our P&C meetings and be part of our school community.
General Meetings are held monthly on the third Friday of each month at 7:30am in the Parent Engagement Room. Everyone is welcome to attend.
A light breakfast, tea and coffee will be provided.
For those unable to attend in person, a Microsoft Teams link will be available. Children are also welcome to attend; however, parents and carers are asked to supervise their children throughout the meeting.

Supporting Our School Community
The P&C has been proud to support Parramatta State School in many ways, including:
- Securing our state-of-the-art OSHC building
- Providing financial support across all year levels for excursions
- Supporting the attendance bus
- Running a student incentive program that recognises a positive attitude and willingness to contribute
Every contribution helps strengthen our school community.
Tuckshop – Quick Guide for Prep Families
The school tuckshop is proudly supported by the P&C and provides healthy, affordable options.
Trading Hours:
🕘 8:00am – 1:30pm (daily)
Please note that while we do our very best to maintain these trading hours, the tuckshop may occasionally need to close due to unforeseen circumstances. We appreciate your understanding and patience when this occurs.
How to Order:
- Orders must be placed by 8:40am
- Write your child's name, class and order clearly on a paper bag (available at the tuckshop)
- Separate Orders: If you child is ordering first and second lunch please use two separate bags
- Payment by cash or EFTPOS
Lunch Collection:
- Prep – Year 2: Lunch is delivered to eating areas
- Years 3 – 6: Students collect lunch from the tuckshop
Uniform – The Basics for Prep
Parramatta State School has a clear and practical uniform policy. For students, the essentials are:
- School polo shirt (short or long sleeve)
- Royal blue shorts or skort with PSS logo
- Royal blue bucket hat with PSS embroidery
- Enclosed shoes suitable for play
- Plain socks (white or black)
